A very comfortable and peaceful place to stay,

This Novotel hotel is a charming, comfortable, and peaceful place to stay. Staff are very helpful and considerate. Rooms are clean and tastefully appointed in a classical style. There are no pretensions to make this hotel 'trendy' or 'chic' which is itself refreshing.

Just a holiday,

We are from St-Petersburg, Russia. We have just come back from Vientiane - Novotel Hotel was really marvellous, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable beds, wide range of dishes in a restaurant. Nothing lacked there! Maybe it was after 2 days in Phousi Hotel in Luang Prabang where the shower was out of order, there was poor breakfast (orange juice, omelette and bread, some coffee or tea) and staff who didn't care of us.
I guess if I go to Vientiane in the future I will choose Novotel Hotel to stay at. Many thanks for our good time!

Great hotel in a great location,

I read the negative reviews of this hotel and was dreading staying there but I could not book anything else in advance. When I got there I found it to be absolutely great. The hotel is a solid 4 star quality and its location is great being about a mile from the center of town. There are tuktuks waiting outside which will take you to the famous morning market for about $3. The breakfast was excellent and even though there was a disco in the hotel I did not hear it at all. The disco is not located in the hotel building but in the back so I would not worry about it. The staff was at first a little lax but after I gave a few healthy tips they were all over me helping me with everything. My room was great being clean and with a view of the main street. If I went back to this city I would look forward to staying at this hotel again.

Above average Accor hotel,

Close to Mekong river sights and city centre but not in the thick of things. The road alongside the Novotel is without traffic lights , and crossing it requires patience .
Re-furb was in progress when we stayed , but nearby good swimming pool at another hotel was available . Should be finished during March2011.
Thoroughly enjoyed the efforts of the staff - esp . Shirley the customer liaison manager , who is a shining light of good humour and a real help with any language difficulties . Food and rooms very acceptable . Some road noise , but this is Asia .I recommend it .

Pleasant stay,

We stayed here for 4 days. The hotel looked old and French style. Our room was clean, very quiet and comfy. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great, near attractions. The wifi was available but not free. Good swimming pool that is a plus. Pleasant stay.
