A little piece of paradise !
This spectacular (& not to mention, new) Boutique Hotel was a wonderful find in Siem Reap. The hotel is located just a short shuttle ride (which is provided free of charge from the hotel) from the central area of Siem Reap. Hotel staff provided us with a local map, travel information, suggested visits to the Night Market, etc...
We had two complimentary bicycles provided to us by the hotel to cycle to Angkor Wat. We cycled to, from and all around Angkor Wat back to the hotel and it was a leisurely distance and a flat road.
The restaurant at the hotel has wonderful food - fresh, tastey (especially the Fish Amok!) and great service.
The room was very spacious, clean and always had fresh linens and towels, soaps and shampoos. We had fresh towels around the pool every day as well. The gardens nice, and the peaceful atmosphere was perfect for eating breakfast by the pool every morning. We didn't bring a laptop on our trip, so everyday we "borrowed" a laptop from the hotel (free of charge) and logged into their wifi (also free). Very accommodating!
Will definitely go back. We loved Cambodia!
Beyond five stars' service !
My partner and I traveled to Cambodia and Vietnam in mid January where we've stayed at a lot of different hotels from five stars international establishments to budget lodgings - Bunwin Boutique Hotel is by far our favourite hotel for our whole trip. Right from the moment we stepped out of Siem Reap international airport we were so well looked after by the staff with their free private transfer, and this service was offered to us regularly through out our five days stay until they drop us off at the airport again on the last day.
The staff at Bunwin made our stay particularly memorable as they were friendly, helpful and genuinely attentive to our needs. The premise is a little bit out of the way from the busyness of national route 6, so it offered an oasis of peace and intimacy that one cannot find at big hundred rooms hotel complexes.
The rooms themselves are spacious, modern, clean and very comfortable. We stayed at one of the deluxe rooms, and at 42 sqm there is plenty of room for couples, or even small families. The en-suite shower and toilet is also fairly big, and they provided us with nice amenities. The room also consisted of an open bathtub which is a lovely idea but like many hotels in Asia, there were not enough hot water to fill it so that was a shame. However, the swimming pool is just on our door step as all the rooms faces the swimming pool, which was convenient for a cool evening dip after a long hot day visiting the temple. The grounds are covered with tropical plants and is very well cared for by the staff.
The complimentary breakfast was quite a treat - we got well fueled each morning with a 'three course' breakfast of bread basket filled with baked goods served with homemade jam, a main of our choice (Asian or American), and a fruit platter to finish, all accompanied with espresso coffee, hot tea and freshly squeezed juices.
The hotel staff were very helpful with temple/tour information; they arranged for an all-day tuk-tuk driver for our temple visit who was really really lovely and helpful. Ask for Kim Engly, or just 'Li' if you are going to stay there and in need for a driver.
Overall, we had an amazing stay at Bunwin (thank you Bunwin staff!) and we would definitely stay there again when we visit Siem Reap. If you enjoy the comfort, privacy and intimacy of small boutique hotels then this is definitely the hotel for you.
Lovely small hotel in peaceful location with excellent staff... !
The reality very much met my expectation with this hotel, I wanted something a little away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre so it was quiet and peaceful. It's down a short section of unmade road so don't let that worry you when you first arrive - the hotel is spotless. The breakfasts are very nice, especially the freshly made fruit juice's. It's personal service to the table rather than the usual buffet style. I ate a few times at the hotel and can recommend the chef's salad. To start with when I arrived there was some mood music playing constantly at low volume from speakers near the pool by my room patio window, I'm a very light sleeper and this was disturbing - I only had to mention it once to staff and the speakers got turned off for the rest of my visit :-). The hotel will arrange transportation of your choosing, round the temples etc and drop you into town and collect when you want. They also have bikes you can borrow. I'm sure this place will quickly move up the ratings as its only been open a short while.
Excellent small boutique hotel, a gem in Siem Reap !
We have just spent four days staying at the brand new Bunwin Boutique Hotel, the hotel is just the perfect place to stay while exploring Siem Reap, it is just a short Tuk Tuk ride from the centre of town but its a delightful haven away from the noise and bustle of the main streets, as it is tucked down a little lane off the main road No 6 . It’s a little hard to find the first time but its well worth the effort.
It only has 10 rooms, which all face out onto the beautiful black tiled swimming pool and garden.
The rooms are beautiful and very large, decorated with simple elegance, with polished concrete floors. The staff are also really lovely and will do everything to please, they even rang our Tuk Tuk driver to check that we were OK while out visiting the temples.
If you want to get away from the many huge hotels in the town and just want somewhere special to stay, this is the place … just delightful, highly recommended in all ways
