+ Victoria at mui ne is fantastic! Despite...!

Victoria at mui ne is fantastic! Despite being almost full when we arrived on a national holiday the place felt peaceful and intimate. The staff are very friendly and made us laugh so much at the seafood buffet which I highly reccomend even for non- fish eating veggies- they accomodated my fussy eating habits and altered the charge accordingly. I'm told the selection if sea food was devine! The beach villas with outdoor showers are on the beach and are amazing. We golfed at the nearby sea links which was supurb and kite surfed with wind chimes in town- ask for trang. I'd avoid the organised trip to the dunes though - I'd rent a moto or get a taxi to take you it's 1/3 of the cost of the hotel trip ! The spa is delicious and the 'couples package' fun- not the place for shyness!!!This place got us hooked with the victoria chain!

+ Lush and Lovely !

The Victoria Resort in Phan Thiet, Vietnam is not really in the town itself, but outside along the coast on the way to Mui Ne, a coastal resort area. The hotel is very lush and green and our room was spacious and comfortable. Each evening, a litlte snack and short-story was put into our room. My husband and son liked the gym, I love the facials and massages in the spa centre and the infinity pool is one of the loveliest we have been in. Even if you don't stay here, you should eat here because the young French-trained Vietnamese chef is excellent. His food is excellent - sophisticated western food, traditional Asian dishes with a twist, and including the humble pho noodle soup. Mr Nguyen was so proud of the broth he took eight hours to brew he insisted we come into the kitchen to see it! Breakfast was ample and varied. Frankly, the Victoria made the visit to Mui Ne/Phan Thiet for us.

+ Wonderful !

Stayed here for about 5 nights. It's located perhaps 5 min drive from Mui Ne proper, so anywhere outside resort is going to require some travel. Unlike most places in the area, it does fit within the description of a resort.

Well appointed villas all have a seaview, set in a lovely garden environment, nice patio with loungers and also outdoor shower in the bathroom. The beach itself is not really for swimming, quite a few rocks. But it's nice to stroll along nonetheless, and there are plenty of loungers scattered around. I stayed in one of the seafront villas, a few m to to the beach only. For those who need quiet night's sleep, the windows are double glazed, shutting out the sound of the sea although I would have been fine with it.

Huge infinity pool, pool of any size is quite a rarity in Mui Ne, with attached bar and restaurant. Has spa as well, although I didn't try it.

Restaurant is overlooking the sea, perhaps not such a varied menu but prices are reasonable and there is a very good breakfast buffet and overall the service is very good.

Have stayed in quite a few other places in Mui Ne, including Cham Villas, Sailing Club etc and this place certainly ranks above them, although it has to be said it's also considerably more expensive.

Would I come here again ? Most certainly.

+ Some people are never satisfied! This resort is fantastic!

These negative reviews do not reflect at all the experience I had at Victoria Phan Thiet, unless the resort has changed drastically since I visited. I went for a week with my mum over two years ago, and the fact the resort and the service still stick vividly in my memory surely says something. I have been fortunate enough to stay in some very nice accommodation around the world, but this place truly took my breath away. We were greeted so warmly at reception, with flannels and a refreshing cocktail, and this set the scene for the rest of our stay. We had a bungalow right on the beach - it felt very private, and the decor was lovely. We had a welcome basket of fresh fruit which was renewed daily. The bathroom was exquisite, with an outdoor shower and hammock-style seat, and the small touches such as little flowers and orchid heads left around daily really made for a very pleasant stay.
Staff were out meticulously raking and tidying the resort every day, and everyone from the gardeners to the waiters to the masseurs always, always had a smile. The service levels were like nothing I have experienced - they seemed genuinely glad to have your custom, and interested to learn about where you are from, without being overbearing or intrusive. They could not do enough for us.
We found a breakfast table we liked and they saved it each morning for us, with an extra pillow for my mum. I still remember the fresh fruit available at breakfast, which was divine, and they did good poached eggs. We tended to fill up and find that we didn't need to eat again until the evening (as the sun goes down quite early it wasn't a late meal)! The bar area in the evening was very pleasant and the fresh juices very refreshing. There was some entertainment on one evening, which was pretty terrible but you've just got to laugh and appreciate the effort - the surroundings are too relaxing to take life too seriously!
We went on a couple of day trips organised by the hotel, and had our own driver and separate guide...called 'Bong' who wore heels through the rainforest, we shall never forget!
We both had a treatment in the spa area every day, mainly massages, and they were the best I've had. The little cabins all open (privately) onto the beach and all you can hear are the waves crashing - it was fantastic and the height of indulgence! I don't remember it being too unreasonable either.
The beach is not rocky...it has rocks, there is a difference!! There is plenty of sand and if you wish, they will move your sunbed there for you. Most people seem to prefer the pool area, and we stayed around the infinity pool a lot - incredible. Not much I've seen beats that view. At the time we went that area was, I think, being finished off, so there was no service at the bar area etc, but that was no hardship and I'm sure that's changed now.
There was only one downside and this is not the fault of the resort - there was sometimes a smell from a local fish-sauce factory in the early evenings which lingered around the place. My mum didn't find it a problem at all but it did turn my stomach slightly. That's the only thing that might put me off going back, but that's just down to a personal sense of smell!!

+ Wonderful experience !

The Victoria was the final part of a holiday which included Cambodia and Hanoi and it proved to be the perfect place to relax after a hectic but fascinating trip. I would endorse the many positive comments made on this site and would say that none of the few negative comments mentioned were apparent to us.
The resort has a high ratio of facilities and staff to guests which means it is never crowded and you have a high level of personal attention. The grounds are stunning and just walking round the resort is a delight. It's greatest strength and our warmest memories however are of the staff throughout the resort who were wonderful with special mentions for Grace and her team and the musicians. Our main tip is to try to learn and use a few words of Vietnamese. This is true of any country you visit but it seemed to be especially appreciated here.
